Objectives :
- Provide stationary and refreshment requirements of
the students at a concessionary prices as there is no
proper facilities in the school for that purpose.
- Management of the shop is done by the students
of advanced level commerce classes with the
help of subject teachers.
- Provide practical knowledge to the students in book keeping, management skills of business institutes.
- Develop the attitudes towards co-operative concepts
and societies.
- Encourage collective work and develop trust and
understanding when dealing with business matters.
- Develop qualities and responsibilities which are vital
needs of the students future life.
2. St. Johns First Aid Service
Started :- In the year 1985
Teacher in charge:- Mrs. N.A. Sujatha
Aims
- Developing knowledge in First Aid among students.
- Providing First Aid whenever it is needed.
Present Situation
In the year 2001 Mrs. Jayaweera carried out the St. Johns First Aid Service .
From the year 2004 Mrs. N.A. Sujatha has been the teacher in charge of this unit.
- By giving them knowledge in First Aid and providing certificates for students passing examinations.
- Participating students First Aid camps annually.
- Become the best school in the contest held in the year 2006.
3. Scouts Association
Teacher in charge:- Mrs. N.R. Jayasinghe
Objective of the international Scouts and Abilities of the scouts and Youth and make them responsible citizens.
Aims
- While fulfilling the objectives of the scouts and Girls Guides Associations, producing responsible citizens from Mahamaya Girls School.
Present Situation
- Mahamaya Girls School.has been registered as “36 th Mtara”at the (scouts) Girl Guides Association Headquarters.
- About 36 students of Mahamaya Girls School are enrolled as Girl Guides
- Our Girl Guides have found many challanges and has achieved success in various field.
4. Counseling And Guidance
Patron:- Mrs. N.R.Jayasinghe
Aims
- understanding problems faced by students within school, and helping, counseling and guiding them into the correct path.
- Other activities carried out by Counseling And Guidance
- Providing necessary counseling and guidance to parents.
- Enrich the students knowledge by various programmes.
- Make them understand leadership qualities by involving them in leadership workshop.
5. Cadetting Platoon
Mother Lanka’s most valuable treasure the children’s most valuable heritage is the national cadetting.
On 2nd december1990. the Defense secretary General sir Cyril Ranatunge opened the national cadetting platoon training center in Rantambe, Randenigala.
The cadetting platoon gives the child an excellent opportunity to face future leadership challenges when he becomes a youth.
Through a prestigious history of 125 years. The cadetting platoon performs a national mission , with mutual and physical effort active and practically training through joyful training.
This training is includes physical exercises, weapon training, map- reading , first aid, regimental rules, Self confidence development, disaster evacuation and maintaining platoon camps and general knowledge.

Started :- MR/Mahamaya Girls school stated cadetting platoon
on 04th June 2009.
The Motto:-
The Motto of Mahamaya Girls school cadetting platoon is” Let’s produce useful and proud trainees to our prestigious mother Lanka.”
Present Situation:-
To this cadets the necessary syllabus and training was stated on 04th June 2009 within a two month duration. The cadets were able to show their talents at the national training camp at Rantabe , Randenigala on 23rd July 2009.
